Friday

Another last ~ last night was the last night of Girl Scouts for these three. Craziness.  I'm thankful the rain held off until the end of our get together last night.

This morning I got some upsetting news about someone dear to me.  I have been in almost constant prayer- yet God keeps reminding me of his grace and provision. Two songs in particular this morning on KLove- Even If by Mercy Me and Throne Room by Kim Walker-Smith had tears rolling down my cheeks as I drove.
"I know You're able and I know You can

Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
I know the sorrow, I know the hurt
Would all go away if You'd just say the word
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
It is well with my soul

It is well, it is well with my soul"

~from Even If by Mercy Me
Hope More:

This is from the Sold Out study today and truly my prayer, that Jesus would be evident in my life.  That people would see His Light in me.

Encampment '17

Here we go!

We arrived approximately 2 hours later...

Our Yurt was at the top of this hill...

The inside was actually quite nice. It was too dark inside to get pictures Friday night but there are some farther down in the post...

Building a campfire

We made popcorn and of course s'mores

There's just something about sitting around a campfire =)

Breakfast Saturday morning- we made eggs in a bag again-

Yummy~

The campsite-

After opening ceremony we did a little yoga-

And then a nature hike-

View from the lookout-

Group Picture-

We picnic-ed in the field for lunch.

The girls played some more group games after lunch- tag, red rover and some variation of kickball.

In the afternoon we learned about geochaching and found 4 geochaches around camp.
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.
A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and sometimes a pen or pencil. The geocacher enters the date they found it and signs it with their established code name, in order to prove that they found it. After signing the log, the cache must be placed back exactly where the person found it. Larger containers such as plastic storage containers (Tupperware or similar) or ammunition boxes can also contain items for trading, such as toys or trinkets, usually of more sentimental worth than financial. (Wikipedia)
It was actually pretty fun. Hopefully we can do some this summer.  Hannah said she liked letterboxing better- which is similar, we did that at our first encampment. Its the same basic idea but instead of treasures the box holds a log book and a rubber stamp. You stamp the log book with your stamp and stamp in your book with the stamp from the box. we always intended to try it on our own but never have. Maybe this summer (if it ever stops raining).  We need to make a summer bucket list soon!

The girls had fun swapping rocks they painted for treasures in the geocaches.

After geochaching we had supper at our campsite- hotdogs and hamburgers (& a couple veggieburgers). Then we headed off to the group campfire- lots of songs and skits. The girls had a blast.

We then had a campfire at our site with a little more popcorn and campfire cones- icecream cones, filled with marshmallows, chocolate chips and nutella and peanut butter (or any combination). Then roasted over the fire- only problem it was really hard to tell who's was who's when we were done. Oh well, still delicious!

Karin took the 11 younger girls on the night hike they'd been begging for- I stayed back to mind the fire with the 3 seniors.  Then bed!

Sunday Morning-

Cleaning up to go home-

The Seniors

Closing ceremony-

I'm thankful the rain held off until we were about half way home.  We had beautiful weather for the weekend.

HOME! Chance missed us! We missed him!

We all took naps. ;-)

another day...

It's March! That means my birthday is in 23 days ;-)

I am having a little bit of a freak out, thinking about all that needs done in general and about the college thing in particular. God keeps telling me to trust.  I just keep praying He is going to make a way. Show us the path.

The whole college thing is completely overwhelming to me. But I am so proud of our girl! I hope she has ever so many more opportunities than me. I hope she finds her passion and a career she loves everyday.

Days like today, I wonder what the point is. Wondering if I will always be sitting at a desk, doing a job I don't really care for. In return for a pay check to just scrape by.

I'm kinda weary today...

Wondering how my life would be different if I took another path.

For now I just settle for squeezing in the passion in when I can, evening and weekends and stolen moments here and there. Wishing I was an honest to goodness chef. Instead of just a mom who knows how to make some pretty tasty goodies.

Here's my bliss~

^^^ These pictures make me happy. I can see my happiness. ^^^
Wish I had a little of that feeling today.

Here we go again...

Winter break is over- even though I had to work- it would seem I used it as an excuse to slack off when I was home. Getting back on track today...
I actually got up and did my Total Body Cardio Fix. Made lunches and then eggs in my New Ceramic Egg Cooker-

I started the NEW She Reads Truth Lenten Study:

I spent the majority of the weekend with my Girl Scouts- overall we had a great weekend.

Lunch time! The Daisies made sandwiches-

After lunch they did science experiments-
- and made SLIME!

I was in charge of supervising Brownies and Juniors preparing supper and breakfast on Sunday.

My dinner crew-
Our Dirt & Worms dessert was a hit!
I brought a plethora of aprons with me- the girls seemed to get a kick out of wearing them.

Settling  in for the night-

My bed in front of The Great Wall o' Cookies-

Mik and I waiting on our breakfast crew to get moving-
Man, I am going to miss this kid next year!

They made it to the kitchen- and I remembered I had a selfie stick...made the group selfie a little easier ;-)
Eggs in a bag-
...the rest of our breakfast spread...

Breakfast was pretty tasty-- if I do say so myself.
