pinteresting

I am adjusting to this new normal of a quiet empty house.  I am finding myself looking forward to actually getting a job and having somewhere to go and something to do... ;P That being said I am slightly apprehensive about my first day back to preschool tomorrow.  If you would say a prayer for me, I'd appreciate it.

This week I have tried/tested a few of the things I have pinned on pinterest.

On Monday I made myself a new purse. :) Here is the pin...

And here is mine... still deciding if I LOVE it or not...but it was fairly simple and quick.  The hardest part being flipping it right side out.  It is fully reversible which I love.  And looks kinda fallish which I like too. :-)

Tuesday I tried a new crockpot meal. It was GREAT!! Even Ryan loved it and he turns his nose up at a lot of things. It also made a ton, I felt like we barely made a dent in this giant bowl of chickeny-tacoy- deliciousness.  The mister took a dish for lunch today and I plan on eating it for lunch as well.  I think this one if definitely one that will stay in my repertoire.

Wednesday marked the start of our Women of Grace Bible Study for the fall season. :-) I made a suitably fallish snack...These Chai Spice Pumpkin cookies. They were fabulous! ;)

swiffer

I have a swiffer and I love it! Especially having white kitchen floor--- let's just say it comes in handy. However also being a bit of a cheapskate as I confessed to in my last post, my swiffer has hung unused for weeks, maybe even months because I have been too cheap to buy another box of replacement pads.

My eldest mocks me each time I pull out the ole bucket of soapy water and a rag, saying "Mom you do have a mop!"

Recently I found a tutorial for making your own reusable and washable swiffer pad. I happily cut up a raggedy old towel and stitched it into a pad. Work like a charm. And I am happily back to swiffering and hopefully less time crawling around on my knees wiping up spots and spills. :D

scrappin'

This past Sunday I went to a Stampin' Up party my friend Jacki was having. I love this stuff. If I didn't love Pampered Chef a teensy bit more I would sign up in a second. But I guess I will settle for spending my hard earned PC commission on supporting my friend! ;P We made these two super cute cards. And the party definitely put me in the mood for more paper crafting!

Earlier this week I made this simple little page for Hannah's scrapbook.

Just now I finished off this one. Kind of vintage as it is from over 3 years ago. I have some back scrappin' to catch up on. They were all so little and adorable!

My favorite part is the background paper that I stamped myself. I used the apple stamp from the Tart & Tangy Stampin' Up set and stamped all over the paper in yellow, green and red.

feelin' crafty

This morning I decided to get at a project that has been sitting on my sewing machine for weeks now. I made myself a new jean skirt. And it fits like my favorite comfy pair of jeans...because it is! They had sprung a hole and it finally got bad enough that I decided I should probably cease wearing them. ;P Weeks ago I cut them up, then out of time and ambition I folded them and set them atop my sewing machine to finish up another day.

Well, today I finished it. And I am happy. Not fancy enough for church or anything "nice" but perfect for home, or running errands... cool and comfy and today, that's what matters...
