That's how it feels anyway. I just can't seems to get a handle on it. Tired. Overwhelmed. Failing at pretty much everything.
On the heels of my frustration and even talking at Moms Connect about decluttering. (We had been talking about changing the atmosphere of our home as moms).
This book showed up in my emails yesterday.
Hmmm...I'm fairly certain I got it out of the library once before... and never even opened it. The kindle version was on sale for $1.99. I checked the library- they only had the audiobook. I was not in the audiobook mood. I'm currently having a love/hate relationship with audiobooks. Its complicated :P Anyway- I popped over to amazon to check it out. I read through all I could on the preview and was left wanting more- so I took the plunge and spent the $1.99 to gain access to the rest of the book.
Its not earth shattering. Its simple, almost well yeah duh, advice. Things like you should wash your dishes and sweep your kitchen daily. Well yeah. Creating must do habits. That are not optional. I'm about half way through the book. Have perused her blog a little, and hope to maybe possibly listen to some of her podcasts.
While the book probably won't change my life- it gives me hope- I am not alone. Hope that maybe I can get my house under control. Couple that with the fact Lent begins tomorrow and another blogger always runs her
40 bags in 40 days program at this time. Maybe I can get rid of some of the crap cluttering up my house.
I mean seriously a week ago I almost cried over a pair of shoelaces. I was attempting to clean off my sewing machine (I was not entirely successful). I asked if anyone needed the shoelaces. (I got them free at a race back in September). No one did- I stated to the house in general- I'm just going to throw them away then. My husband suggested maybe I should keep them. Why? I queried. All of my shoes come with shoelaces. And then I started to tear up, confessing the clutter was suffocating me and I was on the verge of losing it.
So some wins-
- I made the bed. This is something overall I do fairly well with.
- I washed the dishes in the sink this morning.
- I swept the kitchen floor.
- I started a load of laundry
- folded blankets in the living room
I'll keep making little steps, little changes. Hopefully it will start to add up...
