Saturday was the Teal Ribbon Run. My parents picked me up, they were doing the 3K walk together and I did the 5K run. I got up early and walked the dogs and was getting nervous as I was comfortable walking in a tank top at 6:30 am... the race didn't start until 10 am. I was worried it was going to be hot! Spoiler alert- it was.
We did the event with Team Grandma Bev in honor of my Mom's friend who passed away from ovarian cancer. My brother and Bev's son ran track together in high school and that's how mom and Bev became friends. She was a sweet, special lady and is missed.
Alone at the start line... feeling apprehensive.
I tried to take it easy, as I have not done many hot runs yet this season, but still do my best. It was hot and hard but I had a good time. Didn't quite meet my goal but still happy and satisfied.
My parents did the 3K walk and made it back in time to be at the finish line. It made me so happy to start that final downhill and see them and hear them cheering me on. My Dad even took a video which I have watched a dozen times because I love hearing him yell- "GO AMY!" and then my name announced as I cross the finish line!
I made Dad take a photo of me with my finish line chocolate milk and blueberry muffin.
And a selfie of the three of us! 💖
We hit up Dunkin for lunch on the way home.
I love wearing the race shirt the after the event.
In other weekend news Rhett finished the floating shelves he was building for our living room. Now to find things to fill them.
I made these
stuffed peppers and they were super yummy. First time I have ever made stuffed peppers, the recipe used Israeli Couscous instead of rice. I was nervous about this recipe but we all loved it- except Hannah- she doesn't care for the texture of couscous or tiny pastas. She made herself a quesadilla.
Yesterday the girls and I visited the Golden Been Bookshop again and the coffee shop across the street. Doesn't get much better than quality time with my girls, books and coffee.
Hannah and I each got a new book, Mikayla got stickers and borrowed two books from Hannah and myself when we got home. We all got the same Caramel Tortoise iced latte- delish!
Then I spent some time reading in my hammock before it was time to head back to church.
This morning I am happy and proud to say I got up with sun and walked the dogs, ran with Bruno and played with Chance for a few minutes in the yard. It felt hard and good and I am excited to see what the spring and summer bring. =D

Ducks seen on our run.

Chance enjoying a stick without Bruno stealing it from him. Bruno was sadly watching from the kitchen window! 😂
Happy Monday everyone! I hope it was a good weekend and the week is off to a great start for you!
