For Today {July 25, 2017}

Looking out my window
More rain :-/ This is the rainiest summer I have ever seen.

I am thinking
My coffee shop dream and how to change it from a dream to a plan...

I am thankful
For family. I could not have pulled of Saturday without them. =)

I am reading

I am hoping
Dream really can come true...

In my kitchen
I am particularly proud of my cake and these cookies from Mikayla's party.

These cookies were inspired by one of the pampered chef recipes that comes with the kids cookie baking set Lemon Splatter Cookies. (Mikayla decorated them).  For the dough I used the recipe below and it was phenomenal. The only deviation was I only used vanilla extract- no almond. =)

 A moment from my day
I took a few days off last week. One day we went adventuring with some of my favorite people. One of the highlights of my week for sure.

I think its funny Ryan and Chance are making the same face-

Closing Notes: this came up in my facebook memories today- 10 years ago! My sweet little girls reading at the library.  Man time flies! Seems like yesterday. <3

For Today... {February 2}

Outside my window... its just starting to get light out.  Temps are pretty mild this week, most of the snow has melted.

I am thinking... About all the new spring products and recipes! Mikayla watched the Spring Launch with me last night! We had a ball. I earned one product FREE and will be getting few more at half price when I get my paperwork package next week. One of the many perks of being a Pampered Chef consultant!

I am thankful... for such a great weekend! A race, a pizza party.  Celebrating Owen's 2nd birthday. Tea party at Church.  Watching Downton with Mik... ;)

I am wearing... Pjs... Lately as soon as I know I am in for the evening I find myself changing into Jammie's.

I am creating... I need to get out Troop Flag together! I will being doing that tonight and tomorrow night so I can bring to Girl Scouts on Thursday night.

Also made a few cards for a few special ladies.  Some going out in the mail today.  I forgot how much I like making cards. =)

I am reading... Season of the Dragonflies by Sarah Creech

I am hoping... to get new running shoes soon! :D

I am learning...

Be still my soul, be still

In my kitchen... My kitchen is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the NEW Pampered Chef goodies! Hoping to get some recipe testing in soon.  YUM! :D

A favorite quote for today...
Trust in Him at all times, you people;Pour out your heart before Him;God is a refuge for us.      Psalm 62:8 NKJV

A peek into one of my days...
My best friend threw a pizza party to  celebrate my new job.  We had such a great time.

Two of her children gifted me with artwork.

My other best friend gave me these goodies for my new desk. The pens are amazing!

One of my favorite things... Time with the Braskys and Walruses. 💙💙💙

A few plans for the rest of the week: adjusting to my new work schedule :-/ it's harder than I expected. Musical practice for Mik. Piano lessons. Girl Scouts.

Turn Your Eyes

For Today... {October 27, 2015}

Outside my window... It's still dark, and oh so chilly. It's so much harder to get out of my nice warm bed when it's so cold and dark! Winter is not my friend.

I am thinking... Again about my devotional and how God amazingly everyday gives just what I need. If I can stop worrying long enough to look at Him. To sit at His feet and soak it all in.

I am thankful... For God's Word, that He is continually drawing me back to himself.

I am going... to training/interview this week so I can be approved as co-leader of Hannah's GS Troop

I am wondering... what that is going to entail.

I am reading... mostly my Bible and SheReadsTruth these days. I have my Bible on the corner of my desk today.  Even if I don't open it again, when my eyes light on it, it reminds me to focus on Him.

I am hoping... For a little bit of a miracle. But if it's God's plan it will somehow work out... If not-- He must have something better in store.

I am learning...

Today's shereadstruth devotional was so good and so for me. I feel like I could have written it myself. I find it so easy to get so discouraged an down on myself. Lately I have been trying hard to be conscious of the things I say to myself. To not listen to lies but to fill my mind with scripture. To keep my focus on Him and His Word.

In my kitchen...
Friday night I made these little pumpkin cakes. They were so amazingly good! And so very simple! Two ingredients for the cake, just mix together a spice cake oz and a 15 oz can of pumpkin. Bake in the brownie pan for 22 minutes. When cool, I split them and filled and topped with cream cheese frosting. Seriously crazy good. Try it!

A favorite quote for today...
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the face of his glory an grace.

I do love Christmas but I tend to more of the first.  Christmas appears far too early in the stores (in my opinion).   However- I am starting to feel mildly excited about the holidays. For me Christmas begins the day AFTER Thanksgiving.  Between Halloween and Christmas, it feels like Thanksgiving gets glossed over and forgotten. Thanksgiving is actually my favorite, which is why I am probably going to force Hannah to run the Girl Scout Turkey Trot with me. :P There's just something about Thanksgiving.  Cozy homes, turkey and all manor or deliciousness.  Family.  It fills my heart with joy I can not even begin to express.

ABC Family Christmas Movies - 25 Days Of Christmas Schedule for 2015!

But that was all a side note rant to get to this.  I saw ABC and ABC Family's Christmas schedule posted this morning and started to get excited, I LOVE Christmas movies. =)  In addition to Christmas movies I am excited about a holiday baking off show starting Nov 30.  It takes Castle's time slot...but if I have to give up Castle for anything, a holiday bake-off show makes it almost ok ;)

Post Script * After reading the devo on SheReadsTruth this morning, this song as been running through my head.  Ministering peace to my soul.

don't worry, be happy

Yesterday and today I have caught myself getting caught in the grumblely cycle. That is not where I want to be... Are there things I want to be different. Of course-- but does that take away from the plethora of blessings I get to enjoy everyday... No. And these are the things I need to focus on. The things I need to enjoy lest they slip away...

Like the fantastic blue sky... so captivating..

Hannah and Ryan getting to spend the day-- enjoying summer, with some of my favorite people.  I refuse to be sad I am not there too--though I long to be.

I mean-- how can you look at these pictures and not smile.

Life is short, fleeting and precious. Enjoy the ride.

But let righteous people rejoice.
Let them celebrate in God’s presence.
    Let them overflow with joy.
Psalm 68:3
