Catch up

The weekdays seem to be crawling by and so long! I've been feeling tired and grumbly.  Trying to switch that mindset...

My weekend did not go as planned. I totally bailed on the race.  The heat wave coupled with having to go alone. I just couldn't.

But I went out to breakfast with the mister instead. So win and no regrets. ;-)

Hannah and I made a bunch of freezer meals.

Monday night we went by my sister's house to fill her freezer!  Yesterday was her last day of work and we are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Baby.

Ryan is read this book- Imaginary Friend

Which in all honesty I will most likely not read because it is billed as horror and that's just not my thing.  But two things about this give me great joy- a-Ryan is reading. Period.  b- he is enjoying the story so much he gets excited and comes to tell me about it.

On the complete flip side- i saw this quote on Instagram Monday morning. I felt like it went hand in hand with our house church discussion from the night before.

About showing LOVE first and building relationships.

"She had learned a long time ago not to argue theology. She hadn’t come to faith because someone gave her all the answers. She came to faith because she met and talked with someone who made her feel enveloped by God’s love."

It is from The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers. I immediately downloaded the kindle version from the library and have already finished it. So. Good.

Rhett recently purchased a smoker and smoked chicken for Sunday dinner. It was super yummy, the boys were eagerly waiting for a taste too...

I did a LIVE video on FB last night making Buffalo Chicken Casserole.
It was a hit- served with garlic knots (from Aldi) and Caesar salad.

I attempted to make sourdough ciabatta rolls for dinner tonight.  They did not turn out well. So disappointing.  I will be trying again. Stay tuned.

And lastly. Just because.

July Daybook

For Today {Wednesday, July 20}

Looking out my window  Hot & Sunny 😎☀

Bruno and I have been enjoying our runs and creektime.

It's pretty warm this week and I was nervous about today's run but it felt pretty great!

I am thinking about the Chocolate Challenge on Saturday and wondering what possessed me to sign up for this run!

I am thankful for AC in our bedroom!  The dogs are thankful for this too! ;-)

One of my favorite things

I am reading Garden Spells on kindle. From MMD Summer Reading Guide this year and loving it so far.

I am watching The Chosen and very much enjoying it! I finished season 2 last night and can not wait for season 3 to be released.

I am hoping to make some freezer meals for my sister this weekend!

In my kitchen

Super Yummy!

Cold Brew Coffee! My summertime BFF

Trying out a new recipe tonight- Green Goddess Chicken Pitas- the chicken is marinating and am hoping to do a Facebook Live tonight.

Board room  pretty sure this is going to be my Sunday dessert this week ;)

Boston!

This weekend Rhett and I had a little getaway to Boston. He wanted to go to Fenway and see the Red Sox play. So we did.  And it was great.  As an added bonus my cousin lives in the area and we made plans to hook up with her family Saturday afternoon.

Friday morning we headed to Boston. Easily found our Air Bnb in a lovely neighborhood outside the city and had lunch at an Irish Pub. We went back to our lodgings and relaxed for a little while before heading to the game.

Rhett thought it was very funny that I got Dunkin at Fenway ;-)

Saturday morning we went to Omelette Headquarters for breakfast and then to checkout a lighthouse.

Lobster Boat

From there we headed back to Boston to try and see some of the historic sites.... it did not go well. We couldn't find anyway to park and ended up parking somewhat illegally to quickly go snap a picture of the Paul Revere Monument.  It was very lovely there and I wish we had more time to walk around and explore but maybe next time.

We met up with my cousins and aunt at a food truck lot for lunch and then went across the street for ice cream.

We spent the remainder of the afternoon back at my cousin's house, lounging by the pool. Grilled naan pizzas for dinner. Then learning to play Monopoly Deal (card game), which was super fun.

Sunday morning we packed up, found a local diner for breakfast and then headed for home!

All in all it was a wonderful weekend! Thankful to have been able to join Rhett in checking this off his bucket list ;-)  And thankful to have gotten to spend some quality time with family I haven't seen in too long!

Holiday Weekending

I very much enjoyed this long weekend! I did a bit of running and lots of reading!

4 miles on Saturday. Bruno was happy to take a break and play in the creek a bit
I wore my Hamilton shirt yesterday in honor of Independence Day!

Sunday after church I made dinner and then did nothing for the rest of the day but read and nap!

I read this book almost in it entirety and then finished it up yesterday morning.

Monday night we headed to my parents for a cookout and fireworks.

This weekend also marked 26 years together.
We met at Young Life Summer camp.
The summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school.
