Stay-cation

Last week Rhett and I were on vacation part of the week.  It was wonderful.

Wednesday I slept an extra hour and then took the dogs for a good walk to the creek.  Came home, Rhett made me breakfast and I cleaned the fridge (much needed).

I cleaned a little in the bedroom and did my nails.

We went out to lunch at Green Lakes.

That night was my running group, the boys tried to convince me not to go without them.
It was super hot and I think the hardest work out we have done.

It was a killer. But Rhett texted me on our way home and said there was Chinese waiting for me. They got me Sesame Chicken that hit the spot.

Thursday I did not run because I had a little headache.  Hannah and I hit up the Golden Bee Bookshop and the Sugar Blossom Cake Shop around the corner.
These cookies were exquisite. Chocolate Hazelnut, Peanut butter and Jelly, Fruity Pebbles with lemon frosting filling.

Then I took her to Cafe Blue for lunch.  We both had the Blueberry Cobbler Cold Brew.

Hannah had to work in the evening, Rhett and I went to another restaurant we'd been wanting to try. The Angry Smokehouse.  It was so good.  And funnily enough we had the same waitress we had the day before at Green Lakes.

Friday was low key. Walked the dogs and went for a run with Bruno.
Chance hoping to share my breakfast.

Friday night we went bowling. Hopefully next time all the kids can come but Hannah and Dylan ended up having to work.  We had a great time!  The casino near our house has this super fancy little bowling alley inside, this was our first time there.

Saturday the boys enjoyed a little romp in the creek.
I did my long run around home.

Then I went up to Mikayla's for a coffee date.

Rhett and I checked out Madison County Distillery in the afternoon, had some delicious nachos and drinks.

Then I hung out with my nephews in the evening, while their parents had a date night. 💖

Bruno was very concerned I was out so late.
Waiting for me to come home by the window.

Sunday was church, a long afternoon nap and worked on setting up my next Pampered Chef party starting next week.

I also finished off 3 books and hopefully will finish up my review post for tomorrow.

Enjoy the last of July Friends.

Tuesday

My sunflowers are flourishing! They make me feel so happy when I walk up to our door.

This morning there was a little bee visiting.

Chance's Barkday cookie arrived and he was pretty excited about it!

Today's run was kinda meh. But happy to have been out there.

July Sister Coffee Date

Saturday was a nearly perfect day. I started out with a long run at Green Lakes. I ended up doing over half the run solo but used the time for prayer and reflection which wound up being pretty refreshing. Plus gazing at the water is just so rejuvenating and peaceful.

As I finished up and started walking back towards the parking lot I noticed the Little Free Library.

I headed to meet my sister at noontime and we drove together to Cafe Blue in Syracuse.  It is a super cute, super busy little spot.  I would definitely like to visit again.

After we ate our lunch we went for a walk along the creek walk.  It was shady and breezy and an absolute delight.

Finished off the day going out to dinner with Rhett. 💖

The Windmill, ice cream + running

Last Saturday we went to The Windmill, a Farm and Craft Market.  I was hoping to find someone like Sadie's Gingersnaps so I could buy Chancer some birthday cookies (he turned 8 on Saturday!) but no such luck.  I was shocked as it seems prime for dog people- there were so many pups there.  Including Murphy.

We hit up the Spotted Duck on the way home for ice cream.

I neglected to put on sunscreen and got very sunburned. :(

Murphy enjoyed his pup cup too.

I brought home this pot of sunflowers and it makes me so happy!  My goal is to keep it alive for the rest of the summer!

I wasn't feeling the best on Tuesday and decided not to run but just enjoy a nice long walk with the pups instead.  In part because Chance was also super enjoying the walk and didn't seem ready to head home.  We went to the creek and then through the park to get home.

I made pineapple chicken skewers the other night from my Tastebuds subscription and did a live video.  It was so yummy!

Bruno was afraid of the storm.

Super snuggly pups!

Last night was our speed night and we did Hills! It was super hard!

After I got home we ordered pizza and I swear it was the best pizza of my life! :P

Looking forward to Saturday and our July sister coffee date! I'm so excited to try this coffee shop! Stay Tuned...
