catching up

The sky was really beautiful yesterday morning when we went on our walk.

Snuggled up with my buddy on Monday night.

I have done two runs this week and they were both kinda terrible. I'm really regretting all my slacking and procrastination on training.  I went to Green Lakes last night so at least the scenery was nice.  It was close to 80 degrees though so I am sure that was at least part of the problem.  There is no acclimating to weather in CNY it goes right from freezing to almost summer temps.  It was so warm and the water looked so inviting!

Saturday our church did an egg hunt for kids- I had lots of nephews there! After my sister and I hit up Serendipity for a Cadbury Latte (so delicious!)

We spent Easter Sunday afternoon at my parents house and also celebrated my and Nicole's birthdays.

I finished my second read of Jesus Revolution for book club tonight.  Such a great true story of how God can work.  It fills me with such hope, and urges me to pray for hearts to once again turn toward Jesus.

If your interested our next read is The Secret Keepers of the Old Depot Grocery by Amanda Cox

In spite of the super crummy hot discouraging run last night I am loving the weather this week! If you think if me Sunday morning pray for me.  That I survive this Half Marathon. 😧  I'm not feeling very optimistic about it at all right now.

He is RISEN! Easter weekend at home

Friday night the girls and I watched the new Trolls World Tour movie.  It was pretty cute.

Saturday the mister wanted to have a Spring Cleaning day... so we did.  It felt really good to get things all spiffed up.

Sunday was Easter! Easter is one of my favorite times of year.  🌷

Of course this year was different and I was a little lonesome- but refused to be sad... it was Easter afterall!

I got up and did lots of cooking, that in and of itself made me happy. 💖

I made sourdough coffee cake for breakfast and it was super delicious!

The kids found their Easter Baskets

We watched Church~

I am thankful that at least we can continue to worship in this way- but am eagerly anticipating setting foot insdie our church again to worship together in person!

I finished dinner and we feasted. Once I got the kitchen mostly cleaned I crashed for the rest of the day.  Rhett and I binge watched most of Season 1 of All American on Netflix.

All in all it was a nice quiet, homey Easter. 💖

Happy Easter!

We had a spectacular Easter. My heart is so full and thankful this morning.

We were all able to go to Church together and I was actually able to sit with my husband in the worship service- which is a complete rarity. Hannah and I sang with the choir which was actually pretty fun- one of the songs has been stuck in my head since yesterday. :-P

We hosted our first family dinner and it was wonderful!  We borrowed a table/benches and folding chairs from my parents and siblings.

Don't we have beautiful children! 💖❤💖

This is my other favorite family picture :-D We were all trying to cajole Chance to sit on the step. He was really confused by the whole picture taking thing.

Two nights this weekend we have just sat around the table at night talking and laughing and it was great.  Last night we (well, mostly Rhett) were looking for a place to go camping this summer.  It as been eons since we have gone on a family camping trip! I can not wait.  A whole week with no work, outside by the lake, all my children and my mister.  And hopefully the puppers. The only question is- how many books should I bring? 😏

Easter Sunday!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday.  The weather here this weekend was gorgeous!

The kids found their Easter baskets soon after waking.

Mikayla was pretty excited about the avocado cats socks I found!

Because. Chance. <3 I love him.

Ready for Church!

Hannah hung out with Isaac again <3 They are best buds.

After Church Nate, Becca and I headed out for a little run.  Nate had these Happy Easter Medals made for us.  We did 3 miles down their road.  It was a little hotter than I realized it would be- 82 degrees and noontime- so not much shade... But we had a good time. Its the first time I have actually run with my brother.

Easter dinner was delicious and I am so thankful all the Nemitz Fam was around the table.

After dinner we celebrated my birthday =)

After dinner we sat around the table for quite awhile just chatting and laughing.  I'm so thankful for this day.

just another day...

For Today... {March 29}

Outside my window... Brrrrrrr, hoping warmer temperatures will be back soon

I am thinking... that I am really cold today.

I am creating... been working on my 2015 photo book the past few days

I am thankful... for my sister-in-law. That she asked me to go running with her on Easter.  That she gave me that extra push I needed to make arrangements so I can go to the shower this weekend.

I am going... to pick up Mikayla's prom dress!

I am reading... Saving Sophie, Rhett gave it to me for Christmas saw it on my shelf last night and decided to dive in.

I am hoping... my new phone case comes tomorrow. :)  The mister got me a new iPhone for my birthday.  <3

I am learning... to be content.  To recognize this is where God placed me.  To NOT be jealous and bitter.

In my kitchen... last night we tried a new recipe Italian Meatball Burgers from the new Season's Best. Hannah enjoyed breaking in our new burger & slider press.  Tonight we are having and old PC recipe, Chicken Broccoli Braid. **update Hannah says: This is a really good recipe! ;-) Tonight I will be making Chicken Orzo Soup for tomorrow. Thursday is of course pizza night ;)

A favorite quote for today...

A peek into one of my days... a few more Easter pics

One of my favorite things... nieces and nephews

A few plans for the rest of the week: rehearsal for Mik, hoping to get in a couple runs, piano lessons, girl scouts, road trip to Grammy's Friday night for my cousin's bridal shower on Saturday

Exceeding Joy

This weekend was fantastic. My heart is full and happy.

I started it out on a 4 mile run. During which I prayed, I reflected, I thought about my goals for my 36th year.
As I was running the song Today is the Day by Lincoln Brewster came up.  I haven't heard that song in ages, it used to be a favorite. I decided its my 36th year theme. Here are part of the lyrics-

I putting my fears aside
I'm leaving my doubts behind
I'm giving my hopes and dreams to You Jesus
I'm reaching my hands to Yours
Believing there's so much more
Knowing that all
You have in store for me is good
Is good
Today is the day
You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
Today is the day
You have made
I will rejoice and be glad in it
And I won't worry about tomorrow
I'm trusting in what You say
Today is the day

My quest for is to becoming more trusting. More joyful, more cheerful.  Not got bogged down by the little things and to improve my prayer life.

I went out with mom and the girls and finally chopped my hair. I love it!

In the afternoon we celebrated my birthday.  A great time with family.  A little nephew snugging. ;-)

It's Easter Sunday! Church was so good.  I helped out with the breakfast, which also gave me the opportunity to chat with some friends <3  The service was wonderful.  Ryan and Mikayla played in the bell choir.  Mikayla and Hannah sang with the choir. This is the first time they had kids sing a song with the adult choir.  It was so good! =)

After church we went to the Nemitz homestead for dinner. The kids had a little Easter egg hunt. WE sat around the table and chatted and laughed. The weather was unbelievably gorgeous. Late afternoon Becca and I headed to the lake for a 3 mile trail run. I got to try out my new running shoes. It was so good to run with my sister-in-law too.  We got to chat and connect a bit more.

Pretty new running shoes! :)
I am excited about the coming year. Ready to look for the good.
