Saturday morning Bruno and I did our virtual 5K for The Corporal Kyle Schneider Honor and Remember Run.  We ran down to the creek walk and then through the park and around the pond to home.

In the afternoon I went out with Mikayla for a belated Mother's Day.  We got pedicures and went out to lunch.  The restaurant we went to was right by the bookstore so we popped in there too. 💖  We had such a lovely time.

Monday brought another run. I was kinda annoyed Bruno woke me up at normal time, even though it was a holiday and I had turned off my alarm.  But it by the time we finished running it was getting pretty warm and I was happy we got it done early.

We spent the afternoon at my parents and celebrated my brother's birthday.

The kids really enjoyed the cookiewiches and water guns!

I lounged a little with Chance in the yard after we came home before crashing with my book.

A busy, full and wonderful weekend with family. 💖

End of May Daybook...

For Today  {May 26, 2023}  Finally FRIDAY! Hard to believe another month is coming to a close.

Looking out my window

The sunshine is back =)

I am thinking

I need vacation... who's in?

I am thankful

I get to spend some quality time with my oldest tomorrow

One of my favorite things

Modern Mrs Darcy Summer Reading Guide! It came out last Thursday and I blocked out my evening so I could watch the unboxing.

I am wearing

Mikayla got me this lovely sunflower maxi dress for belated Mother's Day gift.  It's going to be a fav and summer wardrobe staple.

I am reading

I just finished reading Demon Copperhead last night.  I didn't read it for a long time because the title didn't appeal to me and I didn't like the cover but it kept popping up so I finally caved and read it.  I'm not sure how I feel about it!  I didn't not like it, it is long and it was a little slow getting into but then I was pretty invested in the story.  I rushed to finish it last night before my kindle book automatically returned this morning.  I feel like the ending made the whole journey worth it maybe a lot of the story just made me sad.... anyone else read it?

I am hoping

to do more running next week

I am learning

I'm currently reading The Intentional Year in my devo time (recommended by SK Bell for me to go with my word of the year).  I'm about half way through and loving it.  Lots of food for thought and intentions to put into practice.

In my kitchen

I made grilled teriyaki pork chops last night that were super yum! From PPP Summer Box.  You could definitely do this with chicken or even tofu...

Board room

Looking for VBS craft inspiration.

Teal Ribbon Run

This weekend I got to have some quality time with my sister and nephews as we all did the Teal Ribbon Run together.  Laura and I registered a few weeks ago but that morning Isaac decided he wanted to run with us too.

Hanging with Evan while Laura registered Isaac.

Our attempt at getting everyone in a selfie 😅

Sisters! We both wore different race shirts from previous years
And we're off!

Isaac in video game mode running through the mile marker to move to the next "level".

Isaac shares my affinity for finish line chocolate milk 😁

He was proud to have finished his first 5K and we were proud so of him too!

Afterward we went to Spill the Tea for snacks - we sat outside since it was such a beautiful day!

It was a super fun morning!

The Honor and Remembrance run we have done in past years was also the same day.  I signed up to do it virtually.  I plan to run it myself next Saturday and find the biggest hill I can to simulate Schneider's Hill.
